The baseball stats & stories I post come from my own personal research. I hope you enjoy. Sincerely, Oliver. Follow me & scroll through my post history. :)
Going back to 1910, this is only the 32nd time a walk-off GS has been hit when 3 runs down. The 1st time (of course) was by Babe Ruth. The only other Giant to do it was Bobby Thomson in ’52. Joost’s in ’52 was off Satchel Paige. Giambi’s in ’02 was in the 14th. #sfgiants
#OTD in 1962, Stan Musial had a 3-HR game, at the age of 41 years, 229 days. He remains the oldest to ever have such a game. #MLB#STLCards

@MaggieandPerl Yesterday they announced the #MLB All Star list. And you've spent 30 minutes talking about LeBron and another 30 minutes talking about sitcoms. 30 minutes of sitcoms talk??? And not a peep about #baseball all stars? I am not impressed.
OTD 1915, Al Shaw of the #KansasCity Packers set the Federal League record with 7 RBIs in a game. The record remains unbroken. #MLB#SABR

#OTD 1925, Milt Stock became the first #MLB player to have 4 or more hits in 4 consecutive games. This feat has only been repeated once, by the #Mariners' Julio Rodriguez (August 16 to 19, 2023). #Brooklyn#Dodgers#SABR https://t.co/9vclcZZfTV
Chilling stories of enduring racism from the legendary Reggie Jackson in response to @AROD's question about returning to Rickwood Field.
"I wouldn't wish it on anybody."
Tells how people threatened to burn down the apartment he was staying at.

“Babe Ruth was number 3, Willie Mays is number 24 and Mickey Mantle is number 7!” ~ Charlie Brown has a great way to remember his locker combination! (Classic Peanuts - 1966) #MLB#Baseball#Legends
Before becoming the 1st two-time 30-30 man (1956 & 1957) and the 1st 30-30 man with 20 triples (1957), #WillieMays was #MLB's 1st 20-50 man (1955). So it's no surprise that he was also our first 300-300 man. #SFGiants#RIP#PoloGrounds
How did #SFGiants' #WillieMays do against the #Dodgers aces? Against Drysdale: .330 BA, .374 OBP, .604 SLG, .978 OPS in 243 PA. Against Koufax: .278 BA, .426 OBP, .536 SLG, .962 OPS in 122 PA. #RIP#MLB#baseballhistory
#OTD 1975 in #baseballhistory, #RedSox rookie Fred Lynn went 5 for 6, with a triple & three home runs, and became the 2nd youngest #MLB player to have 10 RBIs in a game (23 years, 135 days). The youngest? Reggie Jackson (23 years, 27 days). #Boston#Bosox
