Dear twitter friends, I have got two top goals for 2020.
1. Be more kind to people especially random strangers.
2. Learn to play a musical instrument and enroll in a dance class.
Ask me about it sometime and hold me accountable.
@flyairpeace Are you aware that the payment gateway on your website does not accept UK Credit/ Debit cards for London to Lagos flight bookings? I always have to use my Nigeria card to complete a flight booking.
A thread: Economic winners & Associated costs from the Ojude Oba 2024 by Akin Olaoye
It’s easy to quantify the Ojude Oba economy as one exceeding N10 Billion or more when numbers are crunched.
1. Fabric, Aso Oke Sellers , Embroidery vendors + tailors.
The cost of these flamboyant outfits will leave you speechless. This Majestic “Steeze” ranges btw N100k - N400k depending on the customer. A few elites go the mile of dropping N1m for hard to reach material, embroidery and ornaments. Each “Egbe” will source outfits to dress 100+ individuals or more with the same unique fabric and threading. Lagos Island and Gbagi market vendors can’t afford to fall sick from Malaria months or weeks before Ojude Oba. Twitter Aso Oke vendors, pls sell ur market and share figures.
@Posh_Mo@akintollgate A month ke? As at February this year, all major hotels in Ijebu ode was fully booked for the Ileya week.
Many bookings are done a year in advance.
Yesterday night, Inspector Sunday Baba, a brave police officer serving at Rumuolumeni in Rivers State, made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty.
Though the perpetrators fled, we recovered their vehicle. Tragically, the officer's phone revealed 59 missed calls, 51 of which were from his wife. We bore the heavy burden of delivering the heart-wrenching news to her.
Being a police officer means leaving home in good health, never certain of returning alive. Those who take the lives of police officers are murdering those who stand as the guardians of the people. Let's honour the sacrifices of our officers, may their sacrifice not be in vain. Goodbye, Sunday. #RestInPeace #FallenHero #PoliceFamily #UltimateSacrifice
@MercedesBenzUK An update yesterday is now stating a February date, and they cannot guarantee that the delivery will be made at this February date. This is why I am reaching out directly to you.
@MercedesBenzUK Hi, thanks for the feedback.
However, my main challenge is with the details being provided by the retailer. Purchase was supposed to be delivered end of November. This date was later changed to January due to some inaccurate information provided in the system.
Tinapa is a place that is close to my heart as I appreciate the vision behind it, as well as being excited about the potential that the area holds for building a tech ecosystem. While in Cross River yesterday, the team and I visited the Tinapa Business Resort to see the facilities there and I am looking forward to working with our tech entrepreneurs to optimise the space for our tech ecosystem and innovators. ..1/ 2 #NigerianExcellence
@ronaldnzimora Bro, could you re-verify the information of Nigerians assaulting underage girls and robbing banks in Kazakhstan. I believe it’s incorrect.
When my daughter Phoebe heard I was coming to Nigeria, she said, "You're lucky because you get to see Burna Boy and Rema, so I had to look them up...because I'm so 'hip'.
But I remember the last time I was here, I got to see Davido & Wizkid perform.

The Blue Line rail is an electrified system, therefore there is need for citizens to keep off the tracks.
And if you must cross from one side to the other, you must use the overhead bridge, in order to prevent electrocution.
Culture is no excuse for child abuse.
It is time to do great things from a small place.

It will be very shameful if we reduce this to gender wars on twitter.
We all have a responsibility to those without a voice.
Let us all become duty bound and show up for these girls in every capacity.
I hope the government intervenes too.
It will take time but we won’t give up.
10. We will do all of these things whilst simultaneously running a global campaign to end child marriage in Africa.
WE WILL NOT LEAVE BECHEVE UNTIL SOMETHING CHANGES.
