@KaiKai2492 Flaws are good and friction is character-defining. ...until it hurts them in the wallet.
Say what you want about East vs West, but companies are for-profit first no matter what corner of the world you live.
@KaiKai2492 What coincidence that I bought WOTHN and two days later, we got a movie premiere date
It likely is a coincidence, but I believe that I contributed not because it's true but because it's funny
I think my personal ranking on how I can enjoy the game is "Do I feel expendable in the world?"
I can excuse alright combat if I feel like the world will continue even if my player character dies. It's not really that big of a deal-breaker for me (I love Persona 5 btw), but some of my favorite games (like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Gothic) have this notion that the world generally doesn't give a shit if my protagonist lives or dies.
DMC 1, 3, 4, 5. Ninja Gaiden 1-4, MGR, Bayonetta, Doom Eternal, arguably Elden Ring. Most good fighting games, Stellar Blade is at least comp, you can make an argument for Bloodborne, Armored Core 6, Monster Hunter, Titanfall 2, etc.
Sekiro is a masterpiece but come on bruh we gotta stop acting like it has the best combat of all time. It does one play style well but you can name plenty of games across multiple genres that allow for more variety, more player expression and more ways to interact with enemies/the environment or simply require more technical skill and game knowledge.
