The man behind the recent murder in Vilnius is actually a local criminal with a Slavic last name, Mickevich, who, after getting his brain rattled in bare-knuckle and MMA fights, went through a personal crisis, "converted" to Islam, and rebranded himself under the name of his idol, Russian UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Right-wing accounts are now weaponizing the actions of this single unstable local renegade to spread dirty Islamophobia, completely ignoring the thousands of peaceful Muslim labor migrants, like Pakistani food delivery drivers, who work quietly and never appear in any police reports.

Furthermore, the claim that Lithuania's Muslim population magically grew to 45,000 in 2026 is an absolute lie fabricated by Russian bot-farm propaganda videos; official national statistics and security reports confirm the actual number is only around 6,000 to 7,000 people, including native Lithuanian Tatars. This is a tragic domestic crime being intentionally twisted into a fake geopolitical threat.
