Maryam Tahmasebi and her husband, the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, are so thoroughly dishonest and so aligned with Masoumeh’s radical beliefs that Tahmasebi made not the slightest effort to denounce her mother-in-law in her article for The Nation.

Instead, she minimized Ebtekar’s role in the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy and the hostage-taking of Americans by casually describing her as merely “a translator.”

Yet Masoumeh Ebtekar’s own interviews leave no doubt: she was deeply involved and openly admitted she was willing to kill Americans. She served as the English-speaking spokesperson for the hostage-takers. After the revolution, the regime rewarded her loyalty with multiple high-level government positions.

Years later, she sent her own son to the very “Great Satan” she had spent decades denouncing, because life in Iran no longer met their standards and they wanted “a normal life for their children.” That is the same normal life they helped strip from millions of ordinary Iranians.

Now Maryam Tahmasebi, perhaps on the advice of her lawyers, asks you to sympathize with her and her family because she claims to “love America” the country her mother-in-law still calls the Great Satan.

🔴 The woman who offered her house as a reward for killing Salman Rushdie after the attack on the US embassy?

🟡 Our research indicates that the woman in question is Forough Rajaeifar. During the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran, she was apparently seen carrying a G3 rifle and was said to have been in danger of being taken hostage.

Rajaeifar was a prominent member of the Muslim Women of the Line of Imams and an active participant in the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979 (13 Aban 1358 in the Iranian calendar). Various sources, including PBS, have identified her, along with Masoumeh Kar, as one of the two female figures in the student group.

🢑 Important note: Their children live in the United States. Their names are reportedly Ruhollah, Ruholamin, and Dari, and they are said to use the surname Honvar. Further investigation is needed to determine in which US states they currently reside.

The children of such figures are helping to maintain a criminal regime through lobbying and other means.

Forough Rajaeifar is reportedly the head of the Martyrs’ Commemoration Committee of the World Islamic Movement. She also directed the documentary “The Execution of Pharaoh.” She is a member of the Palestinian People’s Defense Association and has been active in promoting the Palestinian Intifada.

We call on U.S. authorities to take the imprisonment of Maryam Tahmasbi, the wife of Masoumeh Ebtekar’s son, much more seriously.

They live in the United States with money brought here by individuals associated with the Iranian regime, and they remain aligned with the same ideology. They should not be treated as harmless people, especially given their ability to travel freely between the United States and Iran.

Many Iranians have given people like them a name: “Ambassadors of Darkness.”

Do not believe their lies, staged performances, or attempts to portray themselves as victims.

According to long-standing allegations, not only Masoumeh Ebtekar but also her husband—the father-in-law of Maryam Tahmasbi—were among those involved in the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, with reports alleging that American hostages were threatened with death.

We urge U.S. authorities to investigate these matters seriously and to consider whether individuals connected to the Iranian regime should be allowed to freely operate between Iran and the United States.
