"I am looking to recruit 2 or 3 highly motivated PhD students who will be working under my supervision (2026 to 2029 and 2027 to 2030) investigating sports betting in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria. I will cover the students' tuition bursaries from my research funds. The studies will test the Apartheid Studies theoretical framework, specifically the notion of the persistence of harm - in this case applied to sports betting in African contexts. If interested, or know somebody who may be, please drop me an email for an initial discussion: [email protected][email protected] "-Dr. Nyasha Mboti
An immediate application (here, for fluid mechanics) of Gauss’ divergence theorem: the continuity equation.
Isn’t it extremely beautiful and elegant?
Here’s the derivation:
So, my academic year has just started (I’m so excited). I’ll not be able to dedicate much time to GR but I’ll slowly read the Sean Carroll’s while focusing on my fluid mechanics studies. In addition, I’ll read a couple of pages a day of this beauty (recommended yesterday by the relativity professor). It is utterly elegant, much more mathematical than others (it actually starts with the differential geometry principles needed), it is concise but deep (the author was an amazing woman, I look up to her).
Everyone at the Premier League is shocked and devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre. Our sincerest condolences go to Diogo’s family, friends, Liverpool FC, and all their supporters at this heartbreaking time. Football has lost a champion who will be forever missed. We will continue to support our friends and colleagues at the club.
