King’s Maternity Voices Partnership: mothers, parents, doulas, midwives, obstetricians, working together to improve maternity services at King’s Hospital London
Today we are launching the Black Maternity Experience survey. We want to hear from Black women and birthing people to bridge the gap of the missing data on morbidity and the near misses.

Black women are @fivexmore likely to die in childbirth.
In my #InternationalWomensDay debate speech last week, I said we really need to talk about Black maternal health.
This week, I found out Parliament will be debating this next month - a step in the right direction.
@dirtycash@KingsMaternity We understand why you would be worried but women who have COVID are separated. Midwives wear PPE which helps to stop the spread.
NHS maternity units remain open during the coronavirus pandemic and are providing essential antenatal care. Changes have been made to how, when and where you attend midwife and consultant appointments, to ensure the safest care is delivered without overloading our NHS services.
We are delighted to be collaborating with @RCObsGyn to eradicate maternal health disparities in the UK. Watch this short animation outlining five actions for healthcare professionals to adopt to help drive change. Read the steps in full here: https://t.co/HsvghDap32
Denmark Hill: We are running a standalone, interactive, virtual workshop for women who have previously had a caesarean section birth on 7/10/2020. Please book on Eventbrite, search 'Kings Antenatal' under Online Events

Today we are focusing on our Birthing Partners.
Please share this with your networks and tag any partners that could benefit from this. You might just be saving a life. The steps are also on our website https://t.co/1fteMczzkz under RESOURCES.#fivexmoreaw20#fivexmorepartnersday
We have teamed up with some prominent Black fathers to co-produce these steps based on their experiences of becoming fathers.
