Great news via the @FSRH_UK - the Mirena Hormonal IUD's licence for contraception has now been extended to 8 years, which applies to devices already in-situ, meaning your removal or replacement date will now change to reflect this.
News for anyone with a current #Mirena coil - its licence is now extended to 8 years, so if you were considering arranging your replacement soon, you may well now have another couple of years before it is needed!
The FSRH Clinical Effectiveness Unit (CEU) has published a statement about the Mirena® 52mg LNG-IUD extension of licence for contraception to 8 years.
