In these walls,
I carve out a man cave--
my palace, where I rule the world,
carefully crafted in my mind.
A place where silence groans with labour pains,
nostalgia comes alive,
and sadness suffers stillbirth.👇🏿
@Rise_Forge False, the reason is simple; a field marshal (5 star general) is an appointment bestowed during wartime granting the bearer full powers to make decisions on the battlefield without executive interference. Only few generals have attained such rank in the world history.
The greatest superpower any Black man can have is self awareness.
Knowing exactly how others perceive you and how you project yourself to the world.
Too many of us have zero self awareness under the illusion that pattern recognition doesn’t exist.
Once you understand a person’s specific pattern they keep in their mind about those who look like you, you can easily interrupt that pattern through how you present yourself.
Never change who you are EVER but always adapt who you truly are to your environment and the people in it.
@R_eq_uin These ideas are not a walk in the park distinguished, however, I've seen humans in history surmount massive challenges than this.
May the Federal Republic of Nigeria succeed.
@taadelodun Heartiest Birthday to you Uncle Toyyib,
I appreciate your passion to support the younger generation with limitless knowledge and wisdom that sets one ahead of the curve.
May your sacrifices never be in vain. Here's to your continued rise, Sir.
@alouibrahim92 Thank you sir for laying this in plain and simple terms; with this quote, I can finally define why I support Nigeria regardless of all challenges faced.
May the Federal Republic of Nigeria Succeed!
Nigeria is the only country I have; Nigeria is the only Country I will ever have. I love my Country. Whether or not my Country loves me back, I love my Country and I’d give my life for my Country. May Allah Restore Security & Prosperity in Nigeria, Ameen.
@Olu_Utd14 Well said distinguished! Only few people possess your trait. Critical Thinking is difficult by default. If you're not exposed to a certain course of study or in the midst of intellectuals, you might be in the loop till d £ @ t h . Nevertheless we must enlighten lest society dies.
A Message to Nigerian Undergraduates: Your Degree Is Not Your Destiny, Your Decisions Are
Let me start with the truth no one tells you early enough:
Being smart is not enough.
Having a degree is not enough.
Even graduating with first class is not enough.
What separates those who break through from those who struggle is clarity, discipline, and intentional action.
You are studying in a country where the system may not always work. Opportunities may look limited. The economy may feel unfair. But hear this clearly:
Your environment can slow you down, but it cannot stop you unless you let it.
Some of the most valuable skills in today’s world were not learned in a classroom:
•Communication
•Problem-solving
•Digital skills
•Critical thinking
•The ability to learn fast and adapt
University is not just a place to earn a certificate.
It is a training ground for mindset, habits, and character.
If all you leave school with is a transcript, you are underprepared.
But if you leave school with:
•A strong work ethic
•Practical skills
•The ability to think globally
•And the courage to start small
Then you are already ahead.
Let me say this clearly:
Nobody is coming to save you.
No government policy. No miracle connection. No uncle abroad.
Your future will respond only to the effort you consistently put in, especially when nobody is watching.
Use your time wisely:
•Learn beyond your course outline
•Build something, even if it’s small
•Volunteer, intern, experiment, fail, learn again
•Read books. Learn skills. Use the internet properly
The same phone used for scrolling can be used for skill acquisition.
The same internet used for jokes can be used to build a career.
Global opportunities do not ask where you are from.
They ask what can you do?
And finally, remember this:
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need to start moving in the right direction.
Start early.
Stay consistent.
Think long-term.
Believe in your capacity to grow.
Nigeria needs thinkers. Builders. Problem-solvers.
And the future is waiting for those bold enough to prepare for it.
Your background does not define your ceiling.
Your discipline does.
Go and build something meaningful.
