Dear Grassroots footballers,
I know you’ve put in so much work to become professionals signed to better teams. Some have even passed the “football age” but are still forcing the path to become professional footballers.
You can pursue your football dreams in different capacity and you won’t miss the feeling of becoming a pro footballer. Football is a diverse industry with a range of career opportunities.
There are opportunities in becoming a manager, either in academies or upcoming football clubs. You can obtain your license from CAF (if you’re an African) from as low as $300-$5000 , UEFA license (Europe) €200- €12000 depending on how professional you want upgrade in your career.
There are several opportunities in becoming football scouts, a football pundits, performance analysts, fitness coach, kitman, football presenter, Pundit, Football journalism ( like Fabrizom, David Ornstein) photographer, videographer, match commentator and lots more.
If you are well experienced in science, there are many opportunities in that industry in football, like physiotherapist, sports therapist, sports psychologist, nutritionist, many more you can think of.
Also there are so many tech careers in football because football is evolving due to use of AI and advanced technology. There are careers like Data Analyst, football data scientist, software developer, video analyst, GPS performance analyst and so much more.
There are also opportunities for law and finance in sports, like being a football agent, legal representation for players, compliance officer, contract negotiator and lots more.
There are also other opportunities like matchday referee, VAR officials, becoming a club CEO, sporting director, brand manager, sponsorship manager
In addition there are many European clubs driven to improve innovations in football for instance the Real Madrid and Barcelona innovation hub which ranges from $7000-$9000 ( Usually during Summer) which cut across what I’ve mentioned above and let you have a footstool to have in the football industry if you want to start a career in football also they create employability opportunities for you to get employed into the football industry
In conclusion dont put your dreams in one basket, I know it’s hard but look out for other opportunities in football that are also booming, maybe not as profitable as football but they earn you a living and still participate in what you love best which is Football !!!
