British Supreme Court confirms .@PoliceServiceNI failings in its investigation of the murder of single mother, Jean Smyth-Campbell. Her family is an inspiration to us all #HerNameIsJean https://t.co/VXq0iDSVGq
The Supreme Court in London has ruled that the PSNI was not independent in its investigation into the murder of West Belfast woman Jean Smyth-Campbell. Jean was killed in a drive by shooting carried out by an undercover British army unit in 1972. Statement from her family ⬇️
@HughSoutheyQC has just finished his submission to the Supreme Court. Very impressive to see the outworkings of the massive work that the legal team has performed over the past 7 years. Many thanks to Hugh, Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh of @matrixchambers and @NiallOMurchu of @KinnearAndCo
Day 3 of the Supreme Court case considering the lack of independence in Police Service Northern Ireland's investigations of conflict killings. Here in London with .@NiallOMurchu of @KinnearAndCo (right) on behalf of the family of Jean Smyth-Campbell. A hugely significant battle
Our @niallomurchu final day at British Supreme Court in London @HughSoutheyQC of @matrixchambers making submissions on the PSNI's lack of independence in legacy cases, representing the family of Jean Smyth-Campbell, murdered by British Army, June 1972. Thanks to @papertrailpro

A socially distancing black woman in Derry. Fast forward a week and loyalist statue-protectors are left gloriously unbothered by police. I really think @ChiefConPSNI and @naomi_long need to say something about this.
In 1904 Roger Casement wrote a report on "the enslavement, mutilation & torture of natives on the rubber plantations" in Belgian Congo administered directly by King Leopold. Today Casement is an Irish hero, & the statue of the despot has been removed in Antwerp #BlackLivesMatter
My heart utterly breaks to think of Niall & his beautiful young family now
What can I even say or write? It’s beyond words
Niall was my Master at KRW Law, where I trained & started working as a solicitor
See below how you can show Niall & his amazing family support

And you know what. The Tories have had 9 years to fund us properly.
If they really wanted to, they'd have done it by now.

Last year I organised a fun run in a local park. The amount of forms and assurances and insurance was immense. How can anyone then just rock up and build a bonfire on council property?
We the families of the springhill westrock massacre campaign group would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come along and march with us as we call for an inquest into the murders of our loved ones #timefortruth and justice
