Today, I engaged with local leaders from Kakumiro, Kagadi and Kibaale districts on the roles of Members of Parliament during a meeting organised by Parliament to educate the public about the functions of legislators.

During the meeting in Kakumiro town, I discussed with leaders the major roles of Members of Parliament, including representation, legislation, budgeting and oversight.

I also engaged with the leaders on various issues concerning leadership and activities of Parliament.

I thank the Rt. Hon. Speaker @ObothOboth , Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa and the technical officers in @Parliament_Ug for this outreach initiative.

This programme is helping the public understand the roles of their parliamentary representatives and bringing Parliament closer to the people. @GovUganda @OPMUganda

Together, we addressed the media about the forthcoming launch of the National Cleaning Days Initiative, a programme that was approved by the Cabinet meeting held in August 2025 and chaired by H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni .

The initiative will be launched by Her Excellency @jessica_alupo on behalf of the President in Kiti Zone, Kisenyi Parish, Kampala this Saturday.

The Vice President will also participate in the inaugural cleaning activities together with other Government leaders, religious and cultural leaders, and members of the general public.

The initiative establishes the last Saturday of every month as the National Cleaning Day (from 7:00 am to 9:00 am).

During this time, all Ugandans are expected to participate in organised community cleaning activities within their areas, including homes, markets, schools, health facilities, places of worship, roads, drainage channels, and other public spaces.

I graced the wedding ceremony of Mr & Mrs Jonathan Kaweesa in Kampala.

I congratulate the couple along with their parents ~ Major Kigozi Kawesa, whom i have known for many years on the joyful occasion.

I reminded them that marriage is an important institution in human life. It is a commitment between two people to share their lives, support each other, and build a family, which is one of the key foundations of our society. I therefore urged them to stick to their vows and strive to have a stable family. @OPMUganda @paceidug @NRMOnline

Today, I launched the national rollout of test kits for HIV, malaria & sickle cell disease — locally made in Uganda for the first time — at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The manufacturing of these essential products in Uganda represents a turning point — from dependence to self-reliance, from importation to production, and from vulnerability to resilience.

I congratulate the @MinofHealthUG, Microhaem Scientific, the manufacturer, and all partners who contributed to this historic milestone.

But this journey has not started today. It has been a deliberate and guided process under the wise leadership of H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni, who has repeatedly issued clear directives to all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of Government, to prioritise local manufacturing.
