Hebrews 2:1 says we must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard so we do not drift away. The term ‘more careful attention’ is far stronger than I ever realized before I studied it. The word ‘attention’ literally means obsession, and ‘more careful’ is an even stronger term, it means to be furiously obsessed. This tells us that anyone who hears the Gospel and says, ‘Now I’m a Christian,’ has only just begun to become what God can make them. Because you have to become furiously obsessed with what you have believed. You don’t move on and say, ‘I’ve got the Gospel and now I want to go on.’ You will drift—not out of blatant rebellion, but because there’s an imperviousness to our minds and you’ve failed to consistently anchor yourself. Unless you take that Gospel and obsess on Grace, you’ll be carried away. Obsess on what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. Pay close attention to it. Obsess on God’s love. You know what that does? It changes you on the inside. The glory of God in the face of Jesus, as you read the scriptures, will melt your heart. Obsess on the grace of Jesus. Work it in, and work it in.

Sometimes the best wisdom is to not speak much at all. There are situations such that nearly any words will make conditions worse. When you meet with a grieving person who just lost a loved one, words should be sparing.
-- Reverend Timothy Keller
Christians are neither moderate nor extremist, but ‘fully orbed fanatics’—fanatically committed to all Jesus’ teaching--fanatically truthful but also fanatically loving. Fully orbed fanatics will not appear to be either moderates or extremists. (M.Griffiths)
Tim’s last words:
1. Leave on the razor edge. Razor edge = go into the city, don’t detach but be different. Preach, disciple.
2. Invest. Invest yourself, your time, your resources even when it might not make sense.
3. Seekest thou great things for thy self? Seek them not.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
— Psalm 139:23-24.
Many of my colleagues who lead Christian assemblies are displaying public wholesale support for political ideologies while recusing themselves from the implications of their actions and words on social media. This is extremely simplistic, naive and will be gravely consequential. It is my hope and prayer that they repent before it is too late.

Error, indeed, is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced more true than truth itself.

@TheCharlesIsidi That’s the church my grandma attended. Her funeral service was done there. I know people who lost their lives there. Justice at this level should be intentionally televised all over the country so that people know. It is important that people know.
