Seven years.
It’s hard to put into words what this city has meant to me.
When Miami drafted a 19-year-old kid out of Kentucky, they believed in me before I’d proven anything. Together, we experienced just about everything this game has to offer.
Two trips to the Finals. Deep playoff runs. Becoming an All-Star. The highest highs, the toughest moments, and every lesson in between.
Through every challenge, every expectation, every rumor, and every setback, I always believed in one thing: put your head down, go to work, and represent the name on the front of the jersey the right way. Every time I stepped on the floor, my goal was to help bring another championship to Miami.
This city gave me more than a basketball career.
It gave me a place to grow up.
I became a man here. I became a father here. I built lifelong relationships here.
Miami became home.
To Spo, Pat, Micky, the entire organization, my teammates, the coaches, trainers, equipment staff, arena staff, and everyone who poured into me over the last seven years—thank you. Thank you for believing in me, pushing me, challenging me, and helping shape the player and person I’ve become.
And to the fans…
Thank you for riding with me.
Through every big shot, every playoff run, every injury, every rumor, and every season—you showed me love I’ll never forget. Whether you cheered for me in the arena, wore my jersey, or simply believed in me, I felt it. I’ll always be grateful for that support.
As excited as I am for this next chapter back home in Milwaukee, a part of me will always belong to Miami.
Miami didn’t just shape my career.
It shaped my life.
Thank you for everything.

Stop the fake outrage! 🛑
Kobe had to play the 4th to get 81, and Bam put in that same work for 40+ minutes of dominance. If you’re mad about stat-padding, you’re not paying attention to the game.
“Let the kids be great!”

Tyronn Lue had a great quote about Bam Adebayo’s 83-point performance and some of the criticism around it:
“He shouldn't listen to it. He scored 83 points. It's Wilt, Bam, Kobe. It doesn't matter what people are talking about or saying. It's stupid. He got the record, no matter how he did it, or second best behind the 100. However he did it, whatever happened, he scored 83 points. That's something that's hard to do, no matter if you're playing against a high school team, a junior high team, 83 points is a lot of points. So I'm very happy for Bam, very happy for Spo, it was a great night for Miami.”
Bam GOES OFF on the "unethical" comments about his 83:
"You're blaming me. You should be blaming the head coach. I was not the one who let me go one on one the whole game until I had 70 then you sent the double. At that point, I had 70 with 9 mins to go. You think I'm not going for it?"
"That's the thing that's crazy when they talk about unethical part of the basketball. If I have 70 w 9 mins to go, who would be like, coach just take me out? Yeah, right!"
"You can't be mad at that. If you are mad, I don't care. A lot of people, they're upset. If they did play, they never got the chance to get that close to chasing greatness. If you get that close, that's the point of chasing it -- so you can surpass it."
Look honey I'm sorry you got in a major car accident and are in the hospital but Bam Adebayo has somehow transformed into 1962 Wilt Chamberlain for a night and I can't miss it.
