BREAKING: Kenyan President William Ruto fires his entire cabinet after weeks of protests.
Only the deputy president and Prime Cabinet Secretary remain. Decision taken after "reflection, listening to Kenyans, and after holistic appraisal of my cabinet," he says

Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda voted YES to the Finance Bill 2024, so Gen Z's in Bondo woke up this morning to organize a funeral procession to his home. They will not believe. They will not believe.
Despite our collective cry rejecting Finance Bill 2024, Parliament gave Zakayo the right to do wrong to 54 million Kenyans. We reject the Finance Bill in its entirety. And despite our peaceful protests, police have responded with bullets, killing two of our own, maiming many others and one person is in critical condition. We refuse to be silenced, so we're marching on...
Day 1. Friday, 21st June: After City Mortuary, attend Juma prayers at Jamia Mosque, and give water to those leaving after the prayers.
Day 2. Saturday 22nd June: At midnight, all bars and clubs where Gen Z frequent will stop the music to listen to a national crescendo of: Ruto must go, and Reject Finance Bill.
Day 3. Sunday 23rd June: Deplatform politicians in church. Don’t allow any politician who voted YES to speak in your church.
Day 4. Monday 24th June: Make a courtesy call on MPs who voted 'Yes' at the constituency office. Tell them: Endelea hivyo hivyo! Boycott the businesses of these traitors. Ostracise them for betraying 54 million Kenyans. Start collecting signatures to recall them.
Day 5. Tuesday 25th June: #OccupyParliament and Total Shutdown Kenya. A national strike. Gen Z are granting all hard working Kenyans a day off. Parents keep your children at home in solidarity.
Day 6. Wednesday, 26th June: Justice for Rex. Visit IPOA and the IG of Police demanding #JusticeForRex
Day 7. Thursday, 27th June: Block main roads leading to Nairobi and #OccupyStateHouse to witness Ruto sign our lives into slavery.

@eden_reforest Doing good work in Lamu County. Not the only county the team is working in, by any means, but one of our first! (disclaimer - we do not plant mangrove seedlings grown in nurseries or using plastic bags - these were brought by a different local group)
@FLAREglobal We use drones for long term, high resolution monitoring through NDVI, as well as building high res DEMs. Areas where we work aren't prioritized for high res satellite imagery or DEMs. Drones are a great way to get exactly what we need to measure change through time
The project engages members of the CFAy who have been benefiting from training & alternative livelihoods.
The CCF was joined by DCCF incharge Forest Conservation Management Ms Charity Munyasya, PCCO Madam Ann Kaari, & KFS Strategic Partnership & Linkages Officer Mr Eric Nahama.

PLANTING UPDATE 🌳Our friends at @eden_reforest are helping us put 450,000 trees in the ground near the Kijabe Forest in #Kenya! Here's a look at the #TeamTrees teams that made it happen earlier this year.
Excited to be presenting at the 2020 ECHO International Agriculture Conference today on @eden_reforest's agroforestry work, then speaking on a panel about monitoring and evaluation tree planting projects!

The teams are experimenting with germination cages for Avicennia marina, a notoriously difficult species to grow. Seeing some cool results. Confident our long-term monitoring teams will help us measure progress, and address challenges.
Catching up with our teams in Lamu who are doing incredible work. Over 500,000 mangroves planted so far, and still going!
