We attended a public baraza at Minazini, Changamwe today. Residents raised concerns over rising insecurity.
We urge DCC, OCPD, OCS, DCIO, ACCs, Public Health, CDMC, CHPs & Community Policing to act.
Police must not use this to harass innocent residents. Security + human rights.
The garbage pile-up at Chaani dumpsite, Changamwe is a public health crisis. The site is next to homes, an ECDE center & a secondary school. Learners can’t study & waste-related diseases are rising. Mombasa County Government must act NOW and remove the waste immediately.
Today we held community dialogue under the Safety and Security Project supported by our partners. The meeting was at Kwa Dhobi Base, with the OCS Chaani, elders, youth and community members. We agreed to improve and strengthen Police, Youth partnerships for a safer Changamwe.
