A high school junior stayed on Zoom after my final class today.
He said he “just wanted to do a vibe check on his teachers.”
“Like... you're all checking in on us. But who’s checking in on you?"
The last few months have been extremely challenging. While several end-of-year events were held for our seniors, prom was not one of them. As much as we held out hope, in the interest of the safety of our students and staff, we regret to announce that Prom 2020 is cancelled.
Seniors, rain or shine, please return your chromebooks, chargers, and case today, Tuesday, June 9 from 11:30am - 3:30 pm at door 1 if you didn’t do it yesterday! #Honortheraiders

I’m hearing from and seeing a lot of posts from teachers concerned that students are not as engaged as they usually are now that we are working virtually. I have a couple of thoughts on this:
I miss taking attendance. I miss greeting my students at the door. I miss saying hi to kids in the hallway. I miss instructing. I miss my conversations with my colleagues. I miss it all. I want to go back to school. I wish people felt the same way. #teachingduringcoronavirus
