All I needed was Xb1 - 3 Switch 2 editions and I'd have been happy...
And then Nintendo spent the rest of the Direct trying to fucking kill me. (Positive thing)

Part the part to repair it and hack it after. Fuck that noise!
I have another 3ds I can hack, but I'm too sentimental to want to try. Also too broke to want to buy another one just to hack. Not with those prices.
Just spent the evening replacing the touch screen on an older New 3ds, and now it's worse than it ever was before.
Honestly, this killed my confidence so hard that I don't even want to be bothered with the fuckin' thing anymore.
Ran some tests, figured the SD card was the problem, not the slot. Cleaned the SD card and now I'm basically forcing the 3DS to recognize it so I can play the game.
Gen 7 kinda slaps. Worth.
Nothing nicer than just not being able to play the 3ds Pokemom games because they absolutely require an SD card, and the reader on mine is about shot.
I won't have the money to afford a replacement reader until late this week. Cheers.

Set up emulation on the Steam Deck so I could play the older Pokemon games on the TV. I'm playing White 2 for the first time now, but it feels kinda wrong emulating it when I own a copy. Now, I'm not sure if I should keep up here or just play on 3DS.
Playing White 2 finally and man, this series used to be so *cool.* The Switch games are great, but aside from Legends Arceus and Z-A, they're still mostly just "mash A to win" with little strategy or planning ahead needed.
Growing up without a lot of money, I'll never know how my Grandmother managed to pull enough money out of her ass for things like a DS, Wii, and later Nintendo consoles. I'll always be grateful beyond words, though. Those gifts genuienly changed my life for the better.
