🎄✨On day 6 of our 12 Days of Krembil, we want to highlight Dr. Mojgan Hodaie, Senior Scientist at UHN’s Krembil Brain Institute!
@CTVNews featured Dr. Hodaie performing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) to treat a cameraman’s hand tremor.

For years, @CTVNews videographer Kirk Neff told other people’s stories.
Now, he’s letting the camera turn on his own after living with essential tremor, a condition that causes uncontrollable shaking.
“It takes a lot out of you,” Kirk shared. “So not only are you shaking, but your mind’s working 24/7 … not only on what you’re doing, but working on trying to keep your hands straight.”
Recently, Kirk was on a shoot where he met Dr. Mojgan Hodaie, a world-renowned neurosurgeon at @UHN. When he put the microphone on her, she immediately said, “I can fix that.”
Check out this powerful three-part series that follows Kirk through his deep brain stimulation surgery at UHN and the moment his hands finally steadied.
Weeks after brain surgery, @CTVNationalNews cinematographer Kirk Neff reunites with @KBI_UHN neurosurgeon Dr. Mojgan Hodaie. See how the procedure impacted the essential tremor he has lived with for decades.
