London taxi driver and ex assistant manager of Crystal Palace Ladies FC development squad, massive supporter of Women’s football! also now a qualified referee
Liverpool Football Club is deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of former LFC Women manager Matt Beard.
The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Matt’s family and friends at this devastating time.
@HLTCO Continuously told friends there is a real player in there if only Roy would give him 10/12 games in a row. Never played more than 2/3 and Edward was back in!
The London promise: if you work hard, and get a helping hand, you can achieve anything.
Immensely proud to receive a knighthood from His Majesty The King. Growing up on a council estate in Tooting, I never imagined I'd one day receive this great honour while serving as Mayor.
This weekend, like most weekends, just before 7am in the morning my husband will leave the house to go and check if a pitch 4 miles from our home is ok to play on. These last few months we've had floods and frozen pitches. He could just wait until he gets there at 9 to set up for the match.
He works Monday to Saturday so the only day he can get a little lie in is on Sunday, but he gets up and leaves mega early so that the players and parents of both teams know ASAP so they may just get that lie in.
It’s the small, hidden duties of a manager which make a big difference to the team AND the parents. 100 % dedication and always thinking of others.
That’s a manager (and a managers wife who is also awake with the alarm!)
Early this weekend on cold, wet, blustery days, volunteer coaches all around the UK will do this so parents can be informed ASAP. Let’s give these men and women a little pat on the back and a thank you 👏👏
