@MVCMadness … then got waxed. Not even 1 bid to dance.
Not trying to dis anyone, but the MVC program of the 2010s was Wichita. Period. Creighton second - despite failure to advance, but NCAA perennial. Loyola F4 amd more. UNI consistent. Over and out.
@MVCMadness Sorry. I hate to be rude, but this is borderline idiotic. I covered college hoops for 40+ years, and every Valley season from 1987-2018. Wichita State, Creighton, UNI and Loyola were teams of the decade. Loyola had way more than ‘a moment.’ … 1/3
@MVCMadness Belmont had an elite decade for a mid, and I am ok with Valpo in that group for what it did before joint the Valley. The rest, who cares? Bradley did start to dig out of its quagmire with NCAA showing in 2019. ISU had a moment. When it tied Shox for regular season title - 2/3
@michaelsobrien Just an educated guess, but those timeout countdowns provide an easy way for the table to time the timeouts and not think about it. Seems it’s too hard to get table workers who know the rules. I am amazed how many high schools have people on the clock who don’t know the rules.
@boblutz I think we're screwed. The NCAA should've made reasonable and thoughtful changes to its mindset and structure 30, 40 or more years ago -- and continued to tweak. Instead, the head-in-sand approach has put them in position to lose all the time in court. There are no rules anymore
@mitchgilfillan@PND_Basketball@ConnorDillon00@DeclanDillon4@EoinDillon23 The Duany family about 10-12 years ago had four at once: Duany at Wisconsin, Nyagon at Bradley, Kueth at Syracuse and Nok at Georgetown. And Bil was an all-star high schooler also headed for D-1. Just to answer your question. But three Dillons is a great accomplishment. Congrats!
@icetimecleve Oral Roberts has to be in the conversation. Not saying it's the best pick, but it has a longtime commitment to hoops and a recent history of being decent.
@miklasz@MoSportsHall Just seeing this and thrilled for you, Bernie. Congratulations! Much respect - and I’m glad you’re still contributing your reporting and insights on Cardinals baseball.
@boblutz Mo is the primary problem. Sadly, DeWitt doesn’t see it - and that makes him a big part of the problem as well. Right now, I don’t trust either of them to get the right answer.
@HoopsWeiss Institutionally a better fit for A-10. Basketball-wise, should’ve stayed in MVC. A-10 and MVC quality of top 5 in each this season pretty even. Loyola would’ve been 8-9 in MVC at best. Time will tell. Too many hot takes.
