Teachers/schools are vital touchpoints for young people thinking of #suicide
Young people often act on their thoughts as a response to life events appearing out of the blue!
@NSWHealth offers free @NewsAtNESA approved Suicide 1st Aid for all schools https://t.co/XqN6DSOEuq
Thank you for the skills taught at #ASIST, a 2 day workshop designed on evidence based suicide intervention model. Learning was invaluable to all parents, teachers, professionals, friends, sports leaders, and tertiary students in attendance @LivingWorksAus @MarcJBryant @Twerech
@MyfMaple @MarcJBryant @cazlup@kristendouglas1 If only I could edit - I should have said, each students’ reasons and solutions should be diverse. I have had two children not complete school due to refusal and a very rigid system.
@MyfMaple @MarcJBryant @cazlup@kristendouglas1 Totally agree, and also often seen as a ‘parenting problem’ by some staff - have seen this as an educator and a parent. Delving deeper and finding solutions is of paramount importance. A winning solution at my house at the moment is flexible learning - school and the gym!
Great to catch up with @Kirs1973 today to discuss the upcoming @LivingWorksAus campaign. Incredible passion and resolve for supporting parents/teachers with skills to help keep young people safe from suicide. A true privilege. Great teamwork from @Kristytee_ and @MarcJBryant too
@ConnellShayne@LivingWorksAus@Kristytee_ @MarcJBryant The privilege was all mine. Thank you! The upcoming campaign is incredibly important. Teachers and parents are vital touch points!
