Got Felicitated as Youngest @TataMumMarathon Legend for running 13 Full Tata Mumbai Marathons.
I will be running my 14th Full tomorrow and guess who felicitated me it was no other than Mo Farah the Olympic Gold Medalist.
86 days to go for Tata Mumbai Marathon. How many of you who are running TMM Full and planning to do 30 km training runs in between??
Longer the mileage, better is the conditioning. For barefoot Runners like me longer mileage is the only way to run a blister free run.
5 mistakes I made!
1)Having black coffee first thing on an empty stomach
2)Running to prove I was good enough, in the later part of the journey.
3)Not investing in land in my thirties and forties
4)Taking feedback personally
5)Not learning technology.
What are your mistakes?
My first product. Only 100 jars dropping tomorrow. A 2₹ candy that will make you go buzz!! Thank you everyone who gave feedback on the samples and taste in last 6-8 months. 🙏
It's truly sad that we in the #fitness community are advocating the importance of staying fit and strong on a daily basis, while the cities we live in are getting more and more dangerously polluted each day with even the air becoming difficult to breathe. And our incompetent authorities are doing zilch to rectify the situation.
Strong knees need more than strong muscles!
▶️As we age, maintaining knee health is not just about lifting weights or walking regularly. We also need to preserve muscle strength, mobility, balance, agility and coordination.
These 5 exercises can help:
✅ Goblet squats
✅ Step-ups
✅ Jump squats
✅ Twisting jump-ups
✅ Quick-feet drills
🔸But I would like to caution that: Not every exercise is suitable for every knee.
✅Start with low-impact variations, progress gradually, and avoid jumping or twisting drills if you have knee pain, significant osteoarthritis or balance problems.
✅Chair squats, supported step-ups and controlled balance exercises are safer starting points for many people.
▶️The goal is to build stronger knees, and to stay mobile, prevent falls and remain independent as we grow older.
🔸Exercise should be tailored to your fitness level and joint health; not your age alone.
📌 Save this article and share it with someone who wants to age actively and healthily.

There's a life to live beyond running - so don't get too obsessed.
Family, friends and work should always be the priority.
Sub 3, Sub 4, Sub 5 or just a finisher - you all are wonderful human beings, to be able to do achieve a magnificent feat beyond all your commitments.
Interesting perspective. But this raises a question for marathon runners which is if adequate carbs during training help maximize glycogen stores, what additional role do gels play over 42 km?
Are they mainly helping maintain blood glucose and sustain performance as glycogen declines, rather than simply sparing glycogen??
And if the training cycle, recovery and pre-race carb loading are all optimized, how much additional benefit comes from fueling during the race??
Is there a point where more carbs stop helping and individual gut tolerance becomes the limiting factor??
Would like to hear from you more about it.
Everyone "knows" why fueling works…
You eat more carbs. spare your glycogen, and go faster.
Three recent studies on carbs and durability say that story is incomplete.
In one study, cyclists ate 60 or 100 g carbs/hr over a 4-hr ride, then did a 15-min time trial.
Power dropped 9.3% vs fresh with 60 g, 6.4% with 100 g. ~9 extra watts. Glycogen fell a lot in both, with no detectable difference.
Another study pushed it further to 90 vs 120 vs 150 g/hr.
Athletes burned more of what they ate, but whole-body carb oxidation was identical at 120 and 150, and exercise capacity didn't differ significantly.
The final study found that “artificially” elevating endogenous carbohydrate utilization almost doubled the drop in power at the first ventilatory threshold after 2 hours of riding.
How I think about it: carbs aren't a performance-enhancing drug. They let you use the fitness you've built.
I suspect the brain is part of it. When your body senses there's fuel available, it lets you push longer.
