If an A&E clinician needs to rely on a GP letter to make a correct diagnosis in a child with acute abdominal pain….
they are NOT qualified to manage undifferentiated patients in A&E.
It is that simple.
In one GP clinic I see pts who are wealthy & pts who are homeless.
Working in the NHS allows me to manage them in EXACTLY the same way
Same tests, same treatment, same referral. Whatever is right for THEM.
We must never allow that to be taken away!
Witnessing all the violent racist attacks in England in utter disbelief & horror
I was born & raised in England & have been a doctor in the NHS for over 15 years
I’m British.
Yet, for the first time, I feel I don’t belong in my own country and fear for my own & my kids’ safety due to the colour of our skin 😞
If @wesstreeting wants growth and more judicious use of current resources then he needs to sack and reform the @gmcuk
They’re not protecting the public by ring fencing standards in medicine. They’re bullying doctors and only doctors whilst refusing to deal with quacks.
Succinct - Clear - Factual
We haven't got enough money to spend £1-£2bn a year paying Drs, but we can find £8bn a year to cut a tax that's only paid by the richest 4%
@BenKentish points out the flaw in the Govt’s claim that the UK can't afford a pay rise

Just came across this post on a facebook group. I believe this must be shared to raise awareness of the future of NHS @TheSalariedPA @BMA_JuniorDocs @Dr_Done_@DrEilidhMaria
@EmergMedDr Just came from a 4.5hr long laparoscopic surgery led by an ST7 trainee and as he skillfully wove intricate sutures around vital organs, it just hit me that he just earns a mere £28 per hour for this. More people should witness our daily workload to understand our value!!
1. I'm a consultant interventional Cardiology that has performed thousands of interventional procedures in patients with heart attacks . Similar procedures are performed in patients with strokes but there are not enough people to deliver these- so patients die or are left with lifelong disabilities.
We are being blocked as Cardiologists doing these life-saving procedures in patients with strokes because we apparently lack training 😳 🙄but PAs with no medical training and a two year masters can be trained in interventional radiology 😳
It's illegal to misrepresent oneself as medical Dr. @IOWNHS The use of 'Dr' in healthcare setting along with 'consultant' misrepresents this person to vulnerable patients. I'm sure you're aware of tragic death of Emily Chesterton! Please correct this immediately!
You can just call us "Doctors"
There are consultants, SAS, GPs and other distinct groups.
Just call us "Doctors".
Call the collective "The Medical Profession".
The direction of the NHS is very clear.
It will be almost entirely run in ACPs/PAs; whether primary or secondary care.
This will be for anyone wanting free access to healthcare
For others you will have to pay insurance/out of pocket to access systems that are doctor run/led
