@studiosupesart@teelokay What it means is that no art that is attempting to express a feeling, depict or document something, exists in a social vacuum.
The art made by an artist is a reflection of the society they live in.
It is also important to not that "art" in that phrase is plural, not singular.
@teelokay Though there's an argument to be made that those comfortable drawings in context to those pieces trying to depict, express, or document could lead to a greater understanding of an artist.
Nevertheless, I doubt you'd really have to defend yourself constantly.
@teelokay I feel like the statement "all art is political" really only refers to art trying to express a point of view, feeling or document something rather than say, an artist drawing sonic or tits because the act of drawing that is comfortable and fun.
