Loaded Log Truck Overturns, Blocks Idaho Highway After Car Makes Illegal U-Turn

Yesterday a loaded Western Star log truck overturned near Spalding, Idaho, after swerving to avoid a passenger car making an illegal U-turn, according to Idaho State Police. Three people were taken to hospitals, and the crash blocked US-12 and Highway 3 for about 2½ hours. The passenger-car driver was cited for reckless driving.

Georgia Tax Preparer Indicted in Alleged Tax Scheme Targeting Truck Drivers

A Loganville, Georgia, tax preparer was indicted Aug. 12, 2026, on 54 federal counts in an alleged scheme prosecutors say defrauded at least 26 people, most of them self-employed truck drivers. Authorities allege Diane Marie Poe collected money intended for federal tax payments but failed to remit the funds, leaving clients facing unpaid tax obligations. The charges include bank fraud and payroll-tax violations.
