@wendyknowler What recourse does a consumer have if the online retailer does not process their return? I logged a return authorisation with @adidasZA on 3 December, which hasn't been processed yet. No communication from them since 14 December.

@CharleneCJacob @adidasZA Their customer service is absolutely shocking! I logged a return on the 3rd of December. Now have three case reference numbers, but nothing else. Their call centre isn't open during all the times shown on their website. @adidas should take a thorough look at what ZA is up to.

researchers should get atleast living wage, along with labour rights. There is no reason why the labour of knowledge production performed by doctoral researchers should be treated as an exception to how every other industry pays wages for work at similar level.

Today, on what would have been Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s birthday, we can only imagine his heartbreak at the state of the world. His life was a call to action against injustice, reminding us that “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”

One year since the tragic events of 7th October, we are reminded of his deep belief in peace through justice. As we honour his legacy, let us continue his pursuit of peace and dignity for all.

Also, why worry about people you don’t like liking you? Ask yourself: do I even like this person? If not, then waste none of your time and energy.

The greatest thing about turning 40? I honest to God couldn’t care less whether people like me or not. Oh, you don’t? We are not friends. You are not family. That is the only affection I genuinely care about that can shake my being. All I need is the love of those I love.

And most importantly, love yourself enough for you that you need no external validation of your existence and who you are. I know me. I love me. I am comfortable with who I am.

So, my dear darlings, focus on you and those who truly matter in your life. Please, you are not Jesus. You do not sell ice cream. Do not seek likeability. Seek to be true to yourself and comfortable with the person you are when you hit the pillow at night, when it’s just you and your thoughts.

You need no one’s permission to be you. You need to be enough for you. No one can ever fulfil that role.
