[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@dlLambo Last nationwide poll showed 44% wanted to keep it, 34% wanted it gone, and 22% didn't care either way..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

Putting it to the people could turn out to mean an article in the constitution requiring all future Irish Governments for ever more to ask each one of the leaders of a small number of the most militarily powerful nations when and where they might let Ireland deploy its own army??

Whose interests are they most likely to consider first??

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@GTCost Security Council**

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

Do we really want to lock into the constitution in perpetuity a binding article saying Ireland must alwaysgive way to any one or all of the countries making up the security in matters of how we deploy our own army?

A referendum is not just a one off that can be readily repealed..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

Prosperity, free movement of labour, need for more workers etc

Over last 10 years the numbers accelerated.. between 2011 and 2022, numbers of non nationals only rose from 545k to 632k..

During that period, ireland shrugged off the last fetters of austerity.. we got rich

Population growth

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@KeithMillsD7 That is not what emergency medicine should be about.. GP referrals should be specific, straight to diagnostics...

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@DrEoin A sovereign country shouldn't need a rigid framework where its democratic decision can be blocked by others to suit their own agendae..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@CllrAlbertDeasy I do not want our government to ever have to ring the MOD in Whitehall, London to get permission for the assignment of Ireland's military units. I seem to have more faith in our own elected politicians than you do..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@PQuinlanDW Lessons learned might be to not scattergun in trivialities to the agenda, prioritise what is important and discard what is not possible, like copperfastening a prayer hall or scout den into the legalities of the plan

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

Supermarkets... if we all want to go cheap, cheap n cheaper... there are not enough margins to go around.. and there's the weather, potatoes can't swim... and we are a bit behind in developing the Irish Banana, mango and orange.

And there is the auld euro per acre, is rhubarb more profitable than milk? Or beef??

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@mcmnorris Will an increased pressure to build rather than acquire give local authorities more flexibility in terms of building to suit the gradually changing demand profile? where single households may soon, or even now, outnumber family sized?

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@dublincomments @LOCthedreamer2 Yes, indeed...alas, sadly, Governments have to stick within the laws of the land..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@rorymcevoy Natural increase, registered births minus deaths added Circa 1.1 million between 1985 and 2025..

In 1985, there was around 380,000 people aged over 65, rising to 860,000 in 2025..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@unspeakable28 Was she not due to be interviewed by PSNI today??

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@eoghan Around 65% to 70% of foreign born now in Ireland come from the continent of Europe. Freedom of movement.

There is somewhere between 710,000 and a million Irish born living abroad.

Online review is good. It may be that another customer might look twice at the picture and pause long enough to reconsider... if maybe they should check out other options.

Yes, people get what they order... but no harm in questioning if what they got was good value..and the joys of SM lets us share our thoughts..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

@Toibin1 British Government lost the right to decide how Ireland should deploy its military over a hundred years ago

Putin or Trump should never have been given any say in the matter.

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

He is a politician, and a Minister.. no minister is going to even hint that measures will lead to house prices falling.. too specific a yardstick to beat themselves with

Nobody really expects house prices to fall.. but it would be good if the rate of increase diminished to below inflation..

[Kit Murray @KitMurray]

The state, with deep pockets, is the single biggest buyer in the housing market. It is very difficult for the ordinary guy to compete. Making local authorities, maybe in consultation with LDA concentrate more on new builds seems to makes sense??

It also allows them to design various sizes to suit demand, with an increasing switch towards single housing list applicants
