I wonder a lot about the state of the world and how we can protect Democracy...

I find it deeply odd….
That some of you
(mostly men)
Need a leader to follow
To practically worship
Some dude you will defend with blind loyalty when you know they cross a line
That isn’t a sign of strength
…but of innate insecurity & weakness
But hey, you do you.
Climate change is not a future problem; it's an immediate crisis. Each year we delay significant action,we edge closer to irreversible environmental damage. The (IPCC) has been clear:emissions need to be cut dramatically by 2030. The clock is ticking, and every moment counts.
A café in Galashiels, Scotland, where you pay as much as you can. Or, if you can, as much as you want. There are grocery stores & restaurants that do this as well. And they all prove there are still many out there who believe in & live community spirit.
#GoodMorning, everyone.
Yes. @ExxonMobil's own scientists DID predict how much the planet would warm given continued fossil fuel burning. And they DID warn us about the "potentially catastrophic events" that would result from that warming in their 1982 internal memo.

Over 100 tons of dead fish in the port of Volos in central Greece, following a mass die-off attributed to extreme climate fluctuations.
This isn't normal. No time to wait. #ActOnClimate#climate#energy#renewables
On CBC last night, I spelt out the moral case to keep on trying, however hard it might be. Defending the living planet is not an option we can abandon. Ultimately, it is all that counts.

"We are losing biodiversity at a rate unparalleled in human history." Global wildlife populations have sunk over 60% since 1970.
We are destroying ourselves and taking nature with us.
Time to protect people and the planet. #vote#ActOnClimate#climate#biodiversity#nature
A few days ago I got lots of angry replies for sharing data that showed the owner of this site was increasingly unpopular with people in the UK. I'm expecting more anger because he's even less popular now - 71% of people have an unfavourable opinion of him

More than 350 elephants that died in mysterious circumstances probably drank toxic water, according to a new paper that warns of an “alarming trend” in climate-induced poisoning.

Emissions from the world's largest fossil fuel project - the Canadian tarsands, are up to 6,300% higher than reported: https://t.co/SAmCoocERj
If we want a future, this is a project we need to stop. #ActOnClimate#climate#energy#renewables#cdnpoli#abpoli
Since 1988, just 100 companies have been responsible for 71% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
We know who's responsible for this crisis. How many 'historic records' do we need to break before we hold them accountable for it? #ActOnClimate#climate#energy#renewables
AMOC collapse is coming, & scientists are screaming for our leaders to take action as if all our lives depend on it.
Because they absolutely do.
Yet I’ve never seen a journalist even mention this to a politician, indeed they hardly mention it at all.
Green spaces provide a better urban climate, because the soil is not sealed here. The leaves of plants also help to balance the temperature and improve air quality by absorbing and filtering air pollutants and dust. The plants bind CO2 and contribute to climate protection💚🌳🌲🍀
