Hey #medtwitter, @aptatweets, fellow healthcare professionals, and allies. Activism doesn’t end when the blackout does, we need to continue to use our privilege to make change. Here is a thread centered on black voices regarding effective activism and next steps. 1/8
I am once again looking for volunteers for an @ampsurf event on 8/24 in York ME! We have a number of adaptive athletes who need additional hands in and out of the water and could use the help! No surf experience necessary! @AdaptiveSportPT@aaldpt@aaspt_apta@USParalympics
@MelSmithDPT @YusraIftikhar My red flag for outpatient clinics is and always will be if the clinic doesn’t allow you to wear sneakers. It may be little but to me it’s an indicator of whether or not they put “professionalism”over the comfort and safety of their employees. It hasn’t steered me wrong yet
I get asked a lot how I get my prosthetic legs on (especiallly from kids!) My everyday leg and running leg stay on differently but here’s a glimpse into how I get my running leg on. And it’s my favorite leg so it’s the most important one also. 🦿🇺🇸💪🏼 #prosthetics
@KatieLucasPT @ampsurf@AdaptiveSportPT@justinsantaPT @SpecializeSIG In my opinion it would be a great opportunity! We work with a variety of athletes at varying skill levels! All ages and diagnosis ranging from SCI, TBI, PTSD, limb loss, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Down Syndrome! We take volunteers as young as 12 so bring the family!
New England Peeps! @ampsurf needs some more volunteers for our Westerly RI clinic this Saturday for our adaptive learn to surf clinic! It’s a great intro to adaptive sports! I’ll link the info below @AdaptiveSportPT@justinsantaPT#everyonecansurf
Also, still could use some more signatures... Anyone want to help out with adding their name and intention to join as an Active APTA member (current students and PTAs will be promoted once we have become an Academy, but do not count towards the required 200)

1.Thread🧵: I cried yesterday. It is terrifying, heartbreaking, to be minoritized in America.
Even when we are not directly involved, it’s painful.
We live a world that continually tries to harm us while so many white people are fine.
Today is not a good morning kind of day.
Our #NortheasternDPT students are going back to #Ecuador as part of PT Project in 2021. If you would like to support them by purchasing #Northeastern apparrel, please DM us for the link. This trip allows @HaywardLorna and our students to continue the great work they do! @NUBouve
