#16DaysofActivism
The numbers are devastating: 95% of Ugandan women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. 44% of women aged 15-49 have faced physical violence since age 15. In 2023, 14,681 domestic violence cases were reportedโbut only 423 resulted in convictions. These aren't just statistics. They're our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends. Behind every number is a woman whose voice deserves to be heard.
As part of our advocacy for 16 Days of Activism, on 01st December, we will be holding a conversation themed, "Understanding Technology Facilitated Gender Based Violence TFGBV."

The African Feminist Movement can be summed in these words...
"Nobody warned you that the women whose feet you cut from running would give birth to daughters with wings."
When African feminist poet @ijeomaumebinyuo wrote this in Questions for Ada, she aptly reflects the passing of the baton of feminist resistance and organising across the continent, through time. From Azania to Kemet, the African Feminist Movement is vibrant, living, breathing, thinking, acting, resisting, and organising.
