This is exactly the problem, but there’s no point trying to convince you because your own argument gives you away.
The GOAT debate has never been about just goals, trophies, Ballons d’Or or the World Cup. Those are achievements they complement greatness, they don’t create it.
The debate is about football itself. Who mastered every aspect of the game? Who could score, create, dictate tempo, manipulate space, control matches and make everyone around him better?
If you’re a genuine lover of football, you know there’s only one player who completes every chapter of the game to the highest level: Lionel Messi.
Ironically, even those who dismiss him spend every transfer window searching for a player who can replicate even a fraction of what he does.
What Messi offers on a football pitch is why he’s regarded as the greatest. His trophies and individual awards don’t define his legacy they simply reinforce what the game has already shown us.
Say whatever you want to say Ronaldo will always remain the Goat. The world cup doesn't define one's legacy.
Even Dembele isn't in the top 100 greatest players even with a world cup and Ballon d'or.
Honestly watching this 20mins of play by Madrid is giving me shivers! We might not be able to compete with them this season honestly. This is not the usual Mourinho style. We will need every bit of Negriera to steal trophies from them
