12 young activists in Uganda have now spent over 80 days in prison. Their freedom has been denied, and their trial deliberately delayed, for protesting the EACOP projects.
The system is using prolonged remand as a tactic to criminalize activism and silence dissent. We demand their release. #FreeThe12Activists #StopEACOP

- It emphasizes Africa's potential as a center for climate solutions.
- It also includes a commitment to turn Africa into a global hub for renewable energy.
- Leaders demanded the full operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund and called for simplified access. 
-The declaration reaffirms commitment to nature-based solutions as cost-effective ways to build resilience.

Next steps:
The declaration is intended to carry Africa's unified outcomes to future climate negotiations, such as COP30, to ensure the continent's priorities remain central.
