There are 2 reason why people think talking about fashion is frivolous:

When I was intending to go to grad school, they told me 100k of debt would be no big deal for a librarian because people took out 30k in loans all the time just for a car and paid it off in 3 years. Uhhh...not anyone knew.

The day I registered for graduate school, I told the clinical director that the loan amount made me nervous. He said, and I quote, "Don't worry about it. After you graduate, it will be manageable."

I think we should move away from language like, “If bras hurt, that means you’re wearing the wrong size.” Wearing the wrong size is a possibility and should be presented as such. But bras can hurt for other reasons too, like having too firm a wire or just not liking the sensation

The other thing about this SHEIN influencer trip that really is bothering me, the most perhaps, is that the talking points talk about automation, streamline, etc. but like the actual act of sewing is done by humans and can ONLY be done by humans
