Torness has been foundational to Scotland’s power generation for decades. It has also delivered well paid, unionised jobs here in East Lothian. It’s an outstanding site for new investment in nuclear power but sadly the SNP remain opposed to this carbon free power source.
@DalgetySusan Thank you! Just doing my bit to help the work being done by advocacy & support groups across the country, and to be fair, by the UK government which recognises medical misogyny and the need for streamlined diagnosis, treatment & care pathways.
Yesterday I took part in a documentary for Latest TV, based in Brighton.
I spoke to the host Bella on the work of the Endometriosis APPG and the need for women to have swifter access to diagnosis, treatment and care pathways across the UK.
There is a sense of momentum as women’s voices are being amplified right across the country, in their demands for better. I stand with them, and for them.
I'm supporting Unheard - a powerful and important collaboration between Creative Media students at Shipley College and Endometriosis Awareness North.
Through a moving documentary, students have helped share the real life experiences of women living with endometriosis.
voices that have gone unheard for too long and calls for a system that listens, understands, and responds.
You can view the Unheard page here https://t.co/3hRuI8WTQf and I encourage others to watch, engage and support this vital work.
Resident doctors have just agreed a deal with us to stop the strikes.
This deal will see better pay progression, better career opportunities, and better working conditions for resident doctors.
Together, we can get on with delivering for patients and cutting waiting lists.
As we enjoy the World Cup, it’s important to remember that major sporting events can be a difficult time for people affected by gambling harms.
If you or someone you know needs support, the National Gambling Helpline is available 24/7, free and confidential on 0808 8020 133.
Last week I attended an eye catching exhibition in Westminster, hosted by Josh Newbury MP and organised by Compassion in World Farming, highlighting the urgent need to #EndTheCageAge.
Around 6 million hens in the UK are still kept in cages, unable to express basic natural behaviours. A striking phone box display showed just how little space they have.
As ever, an excellent read from @DalgetySusan
The question that won’t go away. No, not about Andy (an unfathomable comment) but why Labour hasn’t had a female PM 👇
Is Andy Burnham about to be Labour’s first female Prime Minister? No, I haven’t been on the gin (yet), but one ‘senior’ Labour figure says the former Manchester mayor is a “female PM in all but sex”. Me ✍️on Labour’s sexism (link in replies)
Does it matter that @EdinburghCC councillors passed a motion condemning the EHRC Code of Practice as discriminatory & unworkable, forcing the @ScottishLabour council leader to write to Westminster saying so? Simply an irrelevant performative gesture? 1/5

Casework Wins of the Week!
Here are just a few examples of how my office have helped residents in the Bathgate & Linlithgow constituency this week.
