A former SNP Housing Minister is attacking his party colleagues in Holyrood and Glasgow over Scotland's housing crisis.

As things stand the Scottish Government's on track to miss its 2032 housebuilding target by nearly a third.

Meanwhile Glasgow City Council is this year expected to spend £82m on hotels and B&Bs for the homeless. That's as it tries to fill a £110m funding gap over two years.

Alex Neil says funding should be moved from lower priorities - such as cycle lanes - to building houses. He's also calling for @hp_scotland's unauthorised night shelter to be allowed to stay open.

It is not a playbook Tommy, indeed the actual notion of ‘zionism is racism’ was itself part of a Soviet playbook over many years, rising after the Yom Kippur war and falling after the fall of the Soviet Union.

The notion that self-determination for oppressed Jewish people across the world and across the generations is somehow inherently racist, as compared to so many other struggles, is a fallacy and a peculiar one for so many non-Jews to be focused on.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan said it clearly and plainly in response to the UN passing GA motion 3379 (1975) which also held that Zionism was a form of racism:

"...and it is sufficient for the moment only to note the foreboding fact. A great evil has been loosed upon the world. The abomination of anti-semitism..."

That motion was rightly overturned in 1991. This Green motion must also one day be overturned, and until then Labour must refuse to acknowledge, accept or acquiesce in its resurrection and those whose policy it is.

The Indonesian occupation of the Portugese colony of East Timor was not a major US concern, and DPM role at UN was in relation to the politicisation of its structures where the Cold War powers regularly sponsored opposing motions whilst not directly intervening.

He gives the example of being given the job of opposing China’s involvement in East Timor and Russia’s involvement in Algeria in the dispute with Morocco over Western Sahara.

An undercover investigation inside Reform UK’s political operation has found senior party officials saying they have to “defend the indefensible” when dealing with accusations of racism against party figures, with Nigel Farage told he was “protecting” one Reform candidate from being sacked for allegedly racist views.

ITV Exposure gained unprecedented access to Reform’s Westminster headquarters, sending in an undercover reporter inside the party in January 2026, where she worked as a press officer. She secretly recorded conversations between Reform officials as they dealt with multiple accusations of racism by Reform councillors and candidates.

Reform UK told us: “Not all individuals covertly recorded by ITV are members of Reform UK. Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed.

“Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations.

“There is no room for racism in Reform UK. We always respect due process of investigations and whilst these are ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment on individual cases.”
