Every 6 hours in Scotland, someone dies of a preventable drug related death. We have the worst drug death rate in Europe & without action it will only get worse.
That's why I have launched my Bill consultation in @ScotParl to establish Overdose Prevention Centres.

this is huge - who would vote for independence knowing it would result in all of your cash at bank being forcibly converted into a new Scottish currency and strict capital controls being enforced which would prevent you from moving money out of the country?
You can’t interfere with a private contract and effectively give or take away 20-30% of value to one side or the other. The ECHR would shut this down before it started.
This will cause a massive run on Scottish financial institutions.
It’s game over.
As the British Government sensibly encourages the public to stockpile emergency supplies, lets take a trip back to 1989 to learn about what the MOD thought the Soviet military threat to the UK was and how this country would be attacked by land, sea and air in WW3.
Scotland has world-class shipyards, outstanding engineering expertise and the talent to lead the next generation of British industry.

Britain's growth problem is a grid problem.
We paid almost £2bn last year to switch wind farms off because the grid couldn't carry the power. Households are struggling under weight of rising bills and British industry pays more than double what US firms pay for electricity. Investors make decisions worth billions based on that.
So much gets unlocked once there's a national consensus to throw everything at the grid. Planning. Capital. Just go at it. Winning that argument, while taking the decisions now to speed up the rollout, should be the political priority.
Which is why it's crazy for Wales to even contemplate making it slower and more expensive.
This is somewhere between deeply irresponsible and a lie.
HMRC will be able to "seize money" from people who owe tax, aren't disputing it, but just fail to pay. That's people who cause the rest of us to pay more tax.
I would like to give my informed consent to be putting back on display at Kelvingrove, I dont like it in this cupboard with the mops and buckets

I recently got to see the Glasgow Green Station Stones, currently in storage at WEST Brewery🪨
Previously used as part of an artwork by Douglas Gordon, the stones are now set to be reimagined as part of a new event space.
An exciting opportunity to give these stones a new lease of life while preserving a piece of the city’s heritage!

Great to be working with Glasgow Inst of Architects, Collective Architecture & Maria B to share a fantastic competition & workshop with one of our Glasgow Secondary Schools! 👏

Glasgow Labour argued the £1m legacy fund should go back through proper community consultation.
Local people and organisations deserve a real say in how money intended for the McVitie’s community is spent.
SNP councillors rejected that proposal.

Once again, we’re calling on landmarks across Scotland — from castles to council buildings, schools to statues to #LightUpRed in support of the #ScottishPoppyAppeal.
Help shine a light for our Armed Forces community this remembrance season.

'It's one reason we've stepped back from doing more in Glasgow'
A stark warning from Jonathan MacDonald, who has co-founded some of the most popular restaurants to have launched in Scotland in recent years, including Ox and Finch, Margo, Sebb’s and Ka Pao in Glasgow 👇
Glasgow was once the second city of the empire.
It built a fifth of the world's ships. It had its own stock exchange and a subway before most of the world had electric light at home.
It was meant to be the London of the north!
Then we spent 50 years shrinking it.
But the bones are all still there: the Victorian centre, the river, the subway, the universities, and a million and a half people within half an hour.
Most cities would kill for that. Glasgow just needs someone to treat it like a capital again instead of a back office.
And it pains me as an Edinburgh lad to say it.
