Today we’re doubling down on our commitment to tackle rough sleeping with an extra £432 million to help people off the streets.
With businesses, charities, and communities, @andyburnham and I will work together to end rough sleeping.
Behind the UK's response to bluetongue virus is world-leading science.
At APHA Weybridge, I saw first-hand the expertise helping protect animal health and our farming industry, and plans for a new National Biosecurity Centre that will strengthen our resilience against animal disease threats for generations to come.
Unchecked, anti-social behaviour blights our communities. But it is not inevitable and I won't accept it.
For too long, we have lacked the powers we need to deal with this problem properly. From today, that changes: authorities will be able to take tough action against these offenders.
This delivers on a commitment we made to the British people in our manifesto. And, most importantly, those who make life a misery for others will now face the consequences of their actions.
We are a nation of animal lovers - pigs are intelligent animals that deserve to be treated with care and respect throughout their lives including at slaughter.
The public want to know the meat they buy in the shops is produced in a way that supports high standards of animal welfare. These plans will help deliver that and reduce unnecessary suffering.
We are committed to supporting farmers and businesses make this transition which will bring long-term benefits👇🏻

Busy Pint with your MP tonight at Marina Bar, Eastney.
Thanks to our great hosts and all those who came along to discuss cost of living, the Havant Thicket project, housing, support for children with SEND and more. I’ll be following up issues and ideas.
Great to meet so many fantastic UK producers at the SIAL trade show in Paris this week 🇫🇷
I also joined industry leaders at our Festival of Flavours reception to celebrate the best of UK produce and discuss the opportunities ahead of our new food and drink agreement with the EU.
Backing UK businesses, showcasing the best of our produce, and opening up opportunities for jobs and growth 🇬🇧
As a city, we must push back against all forms of hate by demonstrating that here in Portsmouth, hate will never win.
Support my new community initiative by picking up a “Hate Will Never Win” poster from my constituency office👇🏻

A new UK-EU food and drink deal will make trade easier, open up export opportunities and support jobs across Britain.
At the SIAL trade show in Paris, Food Minister @StephenMorganMP met UK producers ready to seize the opportunities of easier trade with the EU.
Wildfires burned the equivalent of 35,000 football pitches this summer
So we’re supporting farmers to deliver fire safety measures on their land and investing £25m to restore nature
Because healthy, thriving landscapes are the best defence against fires

This was one of the most challenging summers in UK history for wildfires.
Healthy landscapes are our best defence.
We’re investing millions restoring nature and supporting farmers to put natural safety measures on their land to reduce wildfire risk.

Strong winds are forecast across the country in the coming days. Avoid coastal roads, piers and promenades to keep yourself safe.
While localised heavy rain may ease pressure on water supplies, the drought is still far from over.

Everyone loves Albert Road, but more needs to be done to make it safer and cleaner.
That’s why my latest action to bring people and authorities together to improve visiting, living or working on the street and local area was to host a summit to agree an action plan with the police.
Thank you to all local businesses that came along to share concerns and agree practical next steps.
We are absolutely gutted that Portsmouth has not been shortlisted for City of Culture 2029. We believed in this bid and in everything it represents for our great city, so this is a hugely disappointing outcome.
Regardless of the news, we respect the independent panel’s decision and know the city's bid has already restored a real sense of pride and belonging in the place we call home. With local people, artists, community groups and cultural organisations coming together to show what makes Portsmouth so special it was our privilege to fire the starting gun for the process.
We would like to pay particular tribute to the team at Portsmouth Creates for their hard work, passion and commitment throughout the bid process, doing justice to our city's incredible story.
We know that our community will continue to take pride in our maritime heritage and history, our artists and strong community spirit. We share this pride in Portsmouth and that is why we backed this bid every step of the way.
A busy visit to Paris backing UK businesses ahead of our new food and drink agreement with the EU.
Great to meet so many fantastic UK producers at the @sial_paris trade show and my French counterpart, @AnnieGenevard 🇫🇷
Making it easier to export will support growth and jobs at home 🇬🇧
