What a wonderful start to the year. Here are just a few of our wonderful MA Social Research students from last year graduating. What an inspiring bunch. Congratulations!!
One of my wonderful PhD students is looking to interview self identifying female dating app users. Slide into her DM’s (nicely!) if you think you can help 👇👇👇👇
This is *such* important work which will help students and teachers everywhere. Small changes for teachers = big (positive) changes for students. Tested in @shefmethods and it works! Fantastic @William_J_Mason 👏🏻
💥BIG EXCITING NEWS, FRIENDS!💥
The @britsoci Emotions Study Group has two new convenors! Welcome @AliceMenzel and @Kitty_Nichols1! @lsmyth2, who has been co-convening for the past three years (brilliantly, obviously) will also be staying on. Congrats to the new team! 🍾🤩
A lovely pic of some of our fantastic third year students who graduated yesterday. I am proud of them all (especially for surviving the hottest graduation ceremony ever!). Good luck in your next adventures!
I was just on @bbc5live talking to @NickyAACampbell all about name changes in marriage and why it matters (or not) to people. Sharing sociological thoughts on Jen and Ben 🤓 Listen back on @BBCSounds
💒Jennifer Lopez has officially become Jennifer Affleck, after tying the knot with Ben Affleck.
💬It got us thinking...
🤔what's in a name❔
💁♀️Have you legally changed yours❔
@NickyAACampbell asks:
👫What does your name mean to you❓

It is really exciting to be back doing research things. Together with @lhoiry we are hosting an event all about reality TV. Thinking about concepts, theory and method (plus much more!). A day of talking about reality TV 🙋♀️…
If you love quantitative methods, teaching, research and would like to work with a lovely team of people, come and join us. Our students are fab too. #AcademicTwitter#academicjobs
#Faye is kicking off in #loveisland speaking her mind. Yet, there is something about an outspoken woman which can still make people feel uncomfortable. Sociology suggests that this is due to historical ideas of gender roles.
Here is my sociological analysis of an episode of #loveisland. Picking apart the lads and all the drama as it happened. @loveisland your show is great! Keep it coming for us to enjoy and study 🤓🏝️❤️https://t.co/iuiU7EgyGj
#Teddy and #Faye are raising questions about expectations of love. Sociologists have conducted lots of research into monogamy, suggesting that a rejection of monogamy does not go hand in hand with a diminished capacity for #love. There is hope for #Teddy and #Faye yet!
