What sucks about the Painter situation is that the Phillies could’ve gotten a haul for him in 2023 and won a World Series.
I understand holding out hope for your highest rated prospect and not trading him, but hindsight is 20/20 and that just sucks.
Former prospect hugger here, trade literally everyone for all I care at this point.
I get development is a part of the game and watching a young stud blossom infront of you is sick but man this Andrew Painter season is such a depressing experience.
Still trying to figure out what Phillies saw in Painter to make him untouchable in a trade. Also don’t understand where the development is for these “prospects.” Felix Reyes has come and gone and Gabriel Rincones is on the same path. Crawford offers sliver of hope
Phillies Roster Moves:
OF Adolis Garcia has been placed on the 60-day injured list with a right latissimus dorsi tear.
OF Gabriel Rincones Jr. has been recalled from AAA Lehigh Valley.
OF Derek Hill has reported to the club.
OF Steward Berroa has been placed on the paternity list.
“It’s been a very quiet spring for Eli Stowers. With Calcaterra out today, one would’ve expected more opportunity for the Eagles’ second-round pick. But the rookie tight end was invisible.”
