Honoured to pay a farewell call on Hon’ble Prime Minister @trahmanbnp as I near the end of my 4-year tenure in Bangladesh.

Since 1972, @UNDP has stood alongside #Bangladesh 🇧🇩 as a trusted development partner, evolving its work with the development priorities of successive governments and the aspirations of its people.

What has stood out most to me is the breadth of this partnership - supporting national priorities at the highest levels of leadership, while remaining closely connected to communities across the country.

Resident Representative @stefanliller had the honour of meeting the Hon’ble 🇧🇩 Prime Minister at the 2026 Land Fair, where he highlighted joint efforts by the Ministry of Land & @UNDP to digitise land records, advancing transparency, efficiency and citizen-centred public services across the country.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister also appreciated the impact of the Village Courts programme, supported by @EUinBangladesh, in strengthening access to justice and helping reduce local disputes at the grassroots.

A meaningful visit to the beautifully diverse #ChittagongHillTracts with Hon’ble CHT Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan, alongside @CanHCBangladesh 🇨🇦, @MofaJapan_en 🇯🇵, @ADB_HQ & @BDMOFA 🇧🇩.

Rain-soaked stops at UNDP and ADB programme sites showed both the resilience and vulnerabilities of communities across rural areas and municipalities.

We also inaugurated a Japan-supported infectious waste management facility at Rangamati District Hospital - part of a wider assistance to 17 local hospitals.

Pleased that @UNDP 🇺🇳 could provide a platform bringing together government, IFIs, bilateral partners and local stakeholders in a collective effort to advance sustained, inclusive development across the region.
