It fills me with great sorrow that so many Canadians can’t see that true truth & reconciliation is found in Christ. When you miss Christ, you will miss one or both of the truth and reconciliation. We can work together to build a free society with our indigenous brothers in Christ. For that we need the gospel of grace and peace.
Unlike some Reformed churches, the CREC isn’t divided up into national churches.
At the Council meeting this week, I chatted with Brazilian and Polish and Canadian and Ukrainian and Hungarian friends, caught up briefly with a pastor from Toyko, had breakfast with a Kenya church planter. For the past three years, our Presiding Minister has been a Brazilian-American, Uri Brito.
The internationals aren't pastors of mission churches. They have their own Presbytery and they have equal standing with other pastors in the denomination.
The CREC isn’t an exclusively white church, and if it’s “nationalist,” it’s got too many nationalities to be an American nationalist church.
I found a picture of who was wearing Greta Gerwig's "Aslan" skin.
C.S. Lewis already predicted that some ass would wear Aslan like a skinsuit to butcher his message.
@MikeWingerii It’s an increasingly troubling time to live in Canada. We need more people sharing the implications of the laws being passed in and outside of Canada. It puts us as Christians and parents in a very difficult position when we are constantly at risk of so called ‘hatred laws’.
Tranny Aslan confirmed.
It’s not about making good art.
It’s not even about making money.
It’s about humiliation and hatred of what is True, Good, and Beautiful.
We need more ‘ordinary’ qualified men to stand up and pastor the flock. The call for qualified men is not a call to seek only the ‘exceptionally qualified’. We need men intent on following the rule of the Over-Shepherd, not being top-tier exceptions to it.
@DineshDSouza Acts 2:23 (ESV) this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
@Dave4sythe You don’t have to be a clergymen to be a martyr. The occupation of the church includes the offices of prophets, priests, and kings. Engaging the polis is no less a Christian office, and Kirk was no less than a king who was destined to bring peace. He has found that peace.
Here is a declaration for Canadian clergy and Christians in relation to Bill C-9 and the whole cocktail of censorship bills that have come into Canada over the last year.

Why should we, as Canadian Christians, reject the anti-hate speech piece of legislation, Bill C-9, in loyal obedience to Jesus Christ? Find out here:

The Ezra Institute invites pastors, scholars, and serious Christians to Winnipeg, MB, Canada for a day of rigorous teaching on what it means to be the church - and what it means for Christ’s Kingdom to extend over all of life.
In an age of therapeutic religion and ecclesiastical minimalism, the church has been stripped of her theological nerve and cultural authority. Pietism has taught Christians to privatize faith, shrink the Kingdom to the inner life, and abandon the public square to secular powers. This conference confronts that retreat head-on.

@RevZekveld Is Doug Wilson’s ‘smash mouth incrementalism’ a norm in the CREC, or is it more unique to the Moscow crowd? Also, is there actually an essential difference between it and abolitionism? Because they sound the same when being discussed.
