In Justin Taylor’s CT feature in January he wrote: “At the age of 80, Piper works full-time from his home office, answering questions about the Bible and the Christian life through the Ask Pastor John podcast (400 million episode plays over the past 13 years) and through his verse-by-verse video series, Look at the Book (over 1,300 videos so far), with a life goal of working through all the Pauline letters.” Life goal accomplished! Pastor John wrapped up all 13 of Paul’s epistles THIS MORNING by wrapping up Romans. The Romans stats alone: 102 weeks, 403 videos. All to cap what he predicted to be a 10-year project wrapped up in 7. A celebration of God’s sustaining grace in years of slow, steady, verse-by-verse labor in the Bible. And a beautiful testament to big goals.
So thankful that @scottrswain wrote this book. Succint. Clear. Foundational. I wish I had read it in college or early in seminary. Worth reading and re-reading. Know the Lord. Worship. Believe the Bible.

The earliest creeds show that as soon as faith seeks understanding, it reaches out for a tripartite summary that traces salvation to its ultimate source in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The second edition of the Beale/Carson Commentary on the NT Use of the OT is well underway.
The goal is to reintroduce this invaluable project to a new generation of students.
♦️ I'm joining Beale and Carson as a general editor.
♦️ The chapters on John and Acts are completely new. Steve Bryan is writing John, and Alan Thompson is writing Acts.
♦️ The remaining chapters are being revised to interact with current secondary literature and add more discussion of allusions.
♦️ Release date is Fall '27—the 20th anniversary of the original volume.
Most of the second edition is complete. So, if you liked the first edition, you'll REALLY like the second.

I’m really happy with how this came out. The unity of the committee was encouraging.
I hope the SBTC can be a leader among state conventions when it comes to clarity on this issue.
SURPRISE! We've released a special NSBT Themelios issue to honor D. A. Carson for his contribution to biblical theology. 🤩
Does the cover look familiar?
NSBT authors pay tribute to Carson by summarizing and reflecting on their own volumes.
Please read and share!

Amazing love: When Charles Wesley asks Christ, "How can it be that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?" he is both expressing awe and preparing the way for a doctrinal explanation in the following verses.
Did you know that you can download nineteen D. A. Carson books for free? 🤩
These books are so good. Please share with all your friends!

Our way leads us away from God. It leads us to destruction. But God’s way is to come towards sinners in love. Christ came to seek and save his lost sheep.

How can we endure to the end of the world? By clinging to Christ and trusting in his word, which will never pass away.

Jesus is our Lord and Judge who has come to take our judgment. He deserves and demands our whole-hearted devotion, and he grants what he commands. Fix your eyes on him, and ask him to save you.

In Mark 12, Jesus tells a scribe that he is not far from the kingdom of God. What would he say about you? How do you go from being "not far," to being part of God's kingdom? Listen to Sunday's message from Mark 12:1-34
