As I said, if we really wanted Lewis Hall, this deal should've been done before Bruno G's situation changed. Now it feels like we're just feeding stories to journalists for a PR run: "we tried, Newcastle didn't want to sell, or they wanted crazy money."

I can already see us signing an unknown 20-year-old LB on deadline day and hoping for another Lammens-style miracle. At this point, I'm preparing myself for average signings at LB and the third midfield spot. #MUFC

Don't get me wrong, I like him, but the issue is the profile. I'm fine with signing him if we also bring in a proper DM alongside him. Even someone like Sander Berge as an experienced PL option makes sense.

The problem is him or Santos being the main DM. We need a specialist No. 6, someone like Bruno G level, even if it costs £75-80m. I can accept Baleba because he's the profile we need. We need a proper DM, not another hybrid 6/8, especially when we're playing UCL. #MUFC
