NEW: Australian actress Clare McCann is seeking to freeze her 13-year-old son's body after he sadly took his own life due to "months of brutal bullying."

McCann says she is seeking to cryogenically preserve her son, Atreyu McCann, who took his life last Friday.

McCann claims she needs $300,000 within seven days, "or the opportunity for him to live again will be lost forever."

Cryopreservation is when a human is frozen shortly after they pass away, with the hope that future medicine will revive them.

"I can put myself in [cryopreservation] as well and have plans for our family and friends," McCann said while speaking about what happens if the technology isn't ready in her lifetime.

"You know, some people think it would be as soon as 100 or 250 years."
