Residents of the Marry Me Informal Settlement in Mamelodi East conducted a door-to-door operation targeting individuals they believed to be undocumented foreign nationals.
According to community leaders, those identified during the operation were peacefully handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Tshwane Metro Police Department for processing and verification of their immigration status.
Witnesses said the individuals cooperated with the process and were gathered at the Marry Me Taxi Rank while waiting to be collected by law enforcement officials.
A community leader said the operation is expected to continue on Thursday, adding that residents intend to work with the authorities until all suspected undocumented foreign nationals in the area have been processed through the appropriate legal procedures.
