@ChrisCoop_ The ripple effect of swinging harder means more damage on mistake pitches which I think does a decent job of keeping explaining the lack of high K rates. Only drawback have been the weird injuries sustained by players swinging harder like IKF and Roman (twice)
@ChrisCoop_ Sox have had a consistent track record recently of improving players swing speed regardless of whether they’re prospects or veterans. Willson Contreras is a good example of this and it’s why players like Curtis Mead were targeted at the deadline.
@RomansReign617 DRS is very qualitative, relies heavily on arbitrary judgement. OAA is the better stat due to statcast tracking data being more empirical
Drake Maye is 32nd in expected completion percentage at 64.4% and first in actual at 73.8%. His +9.4% CPOE is the best since at least 2016, with the next closest being +7.7% in the last 10 seasons.
@theredbird_way Dobbins is good, that curve plays really great against lefties, helps the opposite side matchup. Boston could afford to shed their abundance of young pitching. Pitched very well against the Cards on 04/06/25
Great knee slide from Marc Guehi in what would have been an iconic send off had the Liverpool deal went through. From the length of the slide, to the involvement of his teammates, to the pure limbs, this slide is a strong 8.7/10
They should call him Dominik SzoboszSLIDE after this display. Punctuating a banger free kick with a textbook knee slide, good slide length, limbs, teammate involvement. However not quite Liverpool’s best this season with Chiesa setting the bar high. 8.6/10

Unreal knee slide from Jarrod Bowen, genuinely everything you want out of a knee slide. Limbs, long glide, stillness before being swarmed by teammates, a slide of sublime quality. Our first 9+ rating and a certain slide of the year contender. 9.1/10

A beauty of a slide from Beto of Everton, gets a long glide and sticks it well. While great, I feel the additional LeBron celly was redundant to the slide an a bit of a stumble detracts from an otherwise great knee slide. 8.3/10

Fabulous knee slide from Isidor of Sunderland, we get a good look of this one from the far angle and it feels very similar to Chiesa’s stellar week one slide. Similar half turn, with excellent teammate engagement. Another 8.7/10, beautiful stuff

Another strong knee slide from Bruno Fernandes, a cathartic goal for a side begging for an identity, the emotion, the passion, the corner flag interaction all supplement a rather sub-par length of glide, pushing this rating to a 7.8/10

Now on to the real banger knee slides, we had an abundance of excellent displays here in match week 3. Hwang Hee-Chan from Wolves may not have gotten the longest slide, but the aura is undeniable here. Going with a clean 8.3/10.

Knee slide from Jaidon Anthony. Hard to give a clear cut rating from this slide as the camera angle misses the majority of it. Especially bad when a teammate out slides you. Going with an N/A/10, I am unable to give an accurate grade.
We have a special, Carabao Cup knee slide here from Charles Vernam of Grimsby Town. Glide could be longer and the landing could’ve been stuck harder, but this was certainly a knee slide worthy moment. Bonus points for limbs and the teammate involvement. 6.3/10
Knee slide from Jaidon Anthony. A bit abrupt and the judges are docking points for the loss of control. Not enough of a slide to warrant real points. We miss a bit of the initial slide from the camera cut, but not a slide I would write home about it. 5.9/10

Knee slide for Dango Outtara. Has the makings of a high score with the level of limbs, teammate support and an overall strong depth of slide. Great glide length, love the way he stuck the landing, going high with an 8.0/10.

Knee slide from James Garner. What kills me about this one is how incredible the goal preceding it was. Unfortunately this brutal display fails to live up to the quality of the goal, and I have no choice but to give harsh marks. Hardly a slide at all. 3.6/10

We have the first knee slide of Matchweek 2, this one from Enzo Fernandez. Good lean back, and a beautiful kit is not enough to save an otherwise lackluster knee slide. Run up to glide length ratio is bad, and we can't ignore the stumble. 5.1/10 (via @premierleague)
