@revenant_MMXX It really is odd when you say it. Like just a generic war movie would have probably earned decently.
Guessing its just weird corporate reasons why it never happened, or hollywood still being weird about video games
No, there is hierachy in family obviously, the point is how its expressed and understood.
There is bad hierachy in which a man may beat his wife unfairly, thats something to condemn, but a grandparent hugging their grandchild is nothing like that.
Hierachy itself is just a tool, its existence whether good or bad depends on its form, not just the fact its a hierachy, cause obvioulsly children cannot overpower adults.
You don't have a choice in accepting hierachy, what matters is what does that hierachy look like? Does it protect its innocents or dispose of them, does it protect the weak or powerful?
A hug from q grandparent is not tyranny, but we live in a time its being considered as such.
@galakushi I think the best part of this was actually hagrid. You could see him struggling with his temper but controlling it, being diplomatic.
Well done, that is storytelling.
@SneezyGremlin You're goal is blank status. To make every act of affection a trasnaction.
No, I think affection in families is normal and has been so for millenia.
You are the odd one.
This guy embodies one of the most popular archetypes used to bully white men throughout the world. Yet after being attacked, he gets back up, stands his ground, and faces his attackers to defend whatever remains of his store.
His attackers, meanwhile, behave like a pack of hyenas. Whatever bravery they have is only because of their numbers and their de facto anonymity — police wouldn’t arrest them anyway.
So, the guy who looks like the punchline of a thousand jokes actually displays more honor in a single moment than literally the entire recorded history of his attackers.
He has no crowd to hide behind, no numerical advantage, and seemingly very little left to protect. What has happened to him will either be ignored or excused as having been caused by some kind of socio-economic problem which is ultimately his fault anyway. Nevertheless, he stands there.
I would take one thousand Jacques Blacks before taking a single refugee.
@johndyer What's hollow is your virtue signaling. We are sick and tired of the bottom 1% demanding our constant attention like ungrateful toddlers. Much of their suffering is self inflicted, so let them inflict it without bothering the rest of us.
@Devon_Eriksen_ The world needs more wonder and whimsey. This is exactly the thing rich people should be doing, not endlessly lecturing us like peasants.
If you are rich, go hard, make cool stuff.
It is natural we want to protect women.
It is sad when we are forced to end them, but we need to end convicted criminals when their crimes warrent it.
For their lives value they discarded by their own cruelty, not by an external actor.
If we cannot execute child murderers then criminals enjoy a monopoly over death.
I think I'm far more likely to be killed by a random criminal then by a western state.
If the value was purely 'it could happen to you' then executing repeat offenders would be the logical step because they are far more likely to kill you randomly and unpredictably then the state.
Why would Pakistans justice affect the Church? Of course pakistan can miswield justice. Pakistan also has courts, police etc, we don't abolish those just because pakistan has them, the death penalty is likeways just a possible form of justice.
Pakistan miswielding justice has no bearing on what Church justice should be.
@Dragonslay3r94 Meanwhile feminine romance fiction is Rich vampire Mcrapist puts a girl in a stockaid and has his way with her.
And it'll flood the bestseller section on chain bookstores.
