كان «الظاهرة» قد وصل إلى إنتر في صيف ١٩٩٧ قادماً من برشلونة بصفقة قياسية آنذاك، وسرعان ما أصبح النجم الأول للفريق.

وفي ديربي ٢٢ آذار، قدّم رونالدو لمحة من سحره الاستثنائي.

بعد تمريرة رائعة من زميله فرانشيسكو مورييرو، واجه رونالدو حارس ميلان سيباستيانو روسي، ثم أرسل الكرة بلمسة ساقطة مذهلة فوقه، مسجلاً هدفاً يُعد من أجمل أهدافه بقميص إنتر.

لكن المشهد الأكثر شهرة جاء بعد الهدف!

ركض مورييرو نحو رونالدو، ثم جثا على ركبتيه وبدأ بتلميع حذاء الظاهرة، في احتفال رمزي يعكس الإعجاب بمهارته الاستثنائية.

📸 صورة تحولت إلى أيقونة في تاريخ ديربي الغضب، وجسّدت المكانة التي وصل إليها النجم البرازيلي.

كان هدف رونالدو هو الثاني لإنتر في المباراة، بينما تكفّل الأرجنتيني دييغو سيميوني بتسجيل هدفين، ليحقق النيراتزوري انتصاراً عريضاً بثلاثية نظيفة.

ورغم أن إنتر أنهى ذلك الموسم وصيفاً ليوفنتوس، فإن رونالدو قدّم واحداً من أفضل مواسمه في الدوري الإيطالي، مسجلاً ٢٥ هدفاً، خلف هداف البطولة أوليفر بيرهوف.
