As a solo dev, negative reviews and sometimes people just telling me to give up really bothered me.
In terms of mental health balance, I can say in todays world, I'd rather work on an indie game team. In just a short months, I've been able to actually enjoy what I've made.
@8BitClosedFist A Kickstarter review YouTuber got upset about content creators being collabed with instead of called out and started making content review videos that brought attention to bad behavior. The issue was he was toxic himself and was and still is someone who should be criticized.
@InfernoOmni They’re kinda both bad people at this point, so picking a side is weird. Additionally he signal boosted all of them as though they are victims. The point of content 👮♀️ was accountability online in a comedic way. This just came off as him being misinformed and manipulated.
@fromsoftserve One of my friends just did a run of dark souls games after elden ring. He quit DS2 after the gargoyles fight. He recently did a re run through after he started Khazan and 100%’d DS2. It’s an easy game to lose interest in but an extremely rewarding experience of you explore it.
Played alot of woodsy soulslike areas today to get in the right headspace for this area. Don't remember the lighting being so weird in the Farron area of dark souls 3, but the layout is immaculate.
Trying to get the atmosphere right for this area. It's raining lightly and there's a ton of overgrowth so a greener tint makes sense, but the bluer tone compliments the rain?🤔
Opening this app makes me lose faith in mankind. Anyhoo here's more level building screenshots. New video coming soon once I get all my story boards done for the animation team.
Level building progress on the new player hub. Blacksmith areas done, so now I gotta finish the trader, the "bonfire keeper" and a small weapon testing area. Getting some story boarding done too for the animation teams new cutscenes.
@thomasbrushdev I’ve been working on FADE for four years solo and have used it as an engine to learn game development. Now we’re fully funded on Kickstarter and have 10,000+ wishlists.
